Generally on my birthday, my mother and I have lunch someplace and this years birthday lunch took place at the College Park Crab Pot. We went with the $12 crab leg special, which comes with a cluster of crab legs, red potatoes, shrimp and a boiled egg. We added two additional clusters, added two pineapple lemonades ($2 each) and our $24 lunch jumped in price to $47. They have their own garlic seasoning they use on the food and I found the crab legs and shrimp to be really tasty. The potatoes were overcooked but still had lots of flavor, the boiled egg threw me off and I asked a lady behind the counter what was the deal with the boiled egg and she replied, we're from the south and that's how we do it. Now, I'm from the south too, so that made me ask, so its suppose to be like a deviled egg and she said No, its just the way we do it. I decided not to inquire further, because that tells me she doesn't know the purpose of the boiled egg either. Business was very brisk for a Thursday afternoon during lunch time. Their voice-mail does include the operating time, but it also states they can close early if they run out of food. I mention that because I returned on Saturday, and as I made my way to the counter, the gentleman in front of me in line, turned around and said, they are out of crab legs. It was 2:30 in the afternoon. Thankfully, I wasn't there for crab legs. I returned on Saturday because they have garlic pig feet on the menu board, but when we were there on Thursday, the man behind the counter said they offer that dish on Saturday and my mom was insisting that she try those. Saturday, I called ahead and was told they did have the pigs feet, and they were not taking any phone orders. Once I arrived, I could understand why, the line was out the door, no exaggeration. There were at least 20 people inside waiting for food, and six people standing around outside waiting for their orders to be ready. They have four or five tables, so if its slow enough you can eat here, but if its busy as it was on Saturday, then eating in would be a bother for me, because I wouldn't won't people standing over me while I'm trying to eat everybody on their cell phones, sneezing etc.....in addition, people are sitting at the tables waiting on their food, and they aren't likely to move because you want to sit down and eat. Please note this spot is in the hood, and it has a hood attributes to it.....to name a few ....It was hot as heck in here. Not sure if the A/C was turned up high, or just with all the people and food cooking it heats the place up, but both days the place felt incredibly warm to me and I asked several times, why is it so hot in here?? Secondly, both time the TV was turned to MTVRaps and there was no way I was about to ask anyone to turn the TV down or change the channel, you don't go in and get the feeling that any extra accommodations to the guest will be taken into consideration, and no one else seemed bothered by rap music blasting out at them, so I rocked to the songs and knew and kept eating. They also have blue crabs and I think the menu board says you can get them fried. Either way, I plan to return because I want to try those garlic blue crabs. Like another poster said...you can tell its good because of the number of people waiting to get their food.

Good food...but GHETTO! I had the shrimp po boy and wanted a coke to wash it down but they were out. Ok I'll take a Sprite nope no sprite either. The cashier walked down the sidewalk & came back with a pineapple soda. Aaaah no maam no thank you. I've gone there again and stood in line 30 minutes to receive my call in order. Definitely need more people with some organization skills to keep the line moving and in an orderly fashion.

I have been watching this place post some of the best looking seafood on their Instagram page @iamthecrabman_ Let me tell you it did not disappoint. I took a Lyft ride over to Old National to check this place out. It sits on the right side of the Flea Market on Godby Road. I got there Bout 1:15. People were waiting for their food and also eating at the picnic tables. Their was a group of older ladies in there swooning over their crab legs and taking pics. I asked one lady hiw was it. She was smacking so hard and locking her fingers she answered without having to tell me. She said it was seasoned very well. Just what I wanted to hear. You order your food at the register to the left if the counter. I stood in the pickup line for a few minutes before I realized this. I was absorbed with folks asking for the lemonade. I got two. Real good and a sugar over load. I ordered my food with the owner. He was a little distracted but I understood because he was keeping everything flowing. I ordered the $12.99 crab pot. This includes two snow crab clusters, shrimp, potatoes, corn and boiled eggs. I also ordered the Fried Conch with potatoes which was $10. The young man with the pretty smile got me my food and made some small talk about how much I will like their food. He wasn't wrong. I had to taste the conch before I left the place. So good. Yes the previous reviews are correct. It's cook to order, it's a hood spot, you have wait but so what. You wait for good things and I love hood spots that are not chains. The food was good, plentiful and most of all at a good price. In Philly that platter was $20 and that was years ago. I just wish they had dungeness crab. Then I really would be in heaven. Loved this spot.

1st of all most of the reviews I read were accurate but I will provide some context. -it's delicious - This is not a in and out spot. Just like most delicious food I e had this takes time, it's packed and they are a small operation. So I go with the wait and mind and I'm good. Patience is a virtue. But be prepared for a 30-40 min wait or more during peak times. I ain't mad though. - no call ins typically that's the rule - great customer service especially from the owner pictured with the white boots - this is not for a diet or healthy meal...salty, buttery, sweet and delicious. - 12.99 crab special is a deal - I get an order of extra corn and eggs - sometimes shrimp a lil to well done - it's delicious - go get some

I tried the crab pot in July while visiting a friend after seeing their various steampots. I didn't realize this was a carryout spot but it was cool. I got their special of the day which included snow crab legs, andoullie sausage, corn, shrimp and potatoes. It costed NOTHING lol. I paid maybe 12 dollars. The food was phenomenal and very well seasoned. The only issue that I had was everything else outside of food and price. The people were nice but they couldn't take cash at the time. They didn't provide us with eating utensils or wetnaps and they had one half roll of paper towels in the front. I do get that they are not typically eat in so I can't dock them too much. I just know what to expect when I come back cause it's worth coming back to.

You want good fried seafood come here, come early, and wait on it, Sugah! My friend and I met some of my other friends this past Saturday- we arrived at 430. The line was almost out the door and everyone seated was waiting on their food, including my girls who'd ordered 20-25 mins before. It's your traditional hood spot- hand written signs, hot as fish grease, and they may run out of what you want by the time it's your turn to order (crab legs). Then again, they may TELL you they ran out, & THEN AFTER you've gotten your order, you see people leaving with something that looks a LOT like crablegs pokin out of several ( read at least 8) carryout bags. "You ain't got ta lie, Craig! " Let me wrap this up, cause I can be long-as-heck-winded. (See?!?! #focus) Pros: The fish (tilapia- all they had left) and shrimp combo ($14)I had was DELICIOUS. Fresh, Well seasoned, breading crunchy, great texture. Potatoes were SUPADUPA buttered and seasoned (almost too much though). I tasted the sausage from one of ly girls' combos, & it was spicily delicous. Cons: I waited for an hour, they were out of ALL beverages, including water(eh?). No bathroom, tv WAY too loud, my girl's corn on the cob looked pretty overcooked, & the crableg lie. (Hmph!) I ended up going to the convenience store a couple doors down and got something to drink, at great prices. (Okay, saving money on drinks is not a con.) I'd go again, just with a book to read, or my girls so we can laugh and giggle...oh, and a snack for the wait.

The seasoning is excellent and the $12.99 daily special is worth it. I avoid going on the weekends.

Ingedients were on point, wayyyy too much old bay seasoning in the food, no bathroom. When we told the manager that the food was too salty he told us that it was our problem and not to come back. LoL I suggest you stay away, seen the owner curse at staff and customers, just really bad experience.

3 words: Fab-u-lous. This was some of the best seafood I've had in a long time. Be warned, you have to go early or you run the risk of them running out of food. And don't get it twisted: it's hood. VERY hood. But as long as no one is shooting, I'm good. I went on a Saturday at 5pm. Bad idea. He was out of the shrimp I wanted. So he told me to come back the next day. Bummer! But he was nice about it so I did just that. I got there around 12:30pm. The young lady who took my order was courteous. I ordered the snow crab legs daily special. For $13, I got 2-3 clusters of snow crab legs, fried shrimp(8), an ear of corn, potatoes, an egg (boiled), and a sh*tload of grease. Lord the arteries supplying blood to my heart are clogging up as we speak. Lol!! But it was soooooo good!!! To avoid the risk of being 300lbs by the end of the summer, I cannot eat here every week, but I most definitely will return. The owner made my return trip worth my while.

Just left the crab pot... And I must say that I am pleased. The staff was friendly, fast, and answered all my questions. The food was fresh and reasonably priced for a seafood spot. I will be back.
